Your initial visit will include
a review of your health history, x-rays, a total oral and facial
analysis, diagnosis and treatment planning, detailed informed
consent, signing of a surgical request for treatment, and financial
arrangements. The details of your surgery and the anesthetic
to be used will be explained. Further, the doctor will review
post-operative care instructions with you, and you will receive
a written copy of these instructions. On rare occasion, surgery
can be performed the same day as the consultation, but in general,
it is in the patient's best interest to be presented with a
treatment plan at the initial visit and arrange to have surgery
performed on a separate day. By gathering and reviewing this
information pre-operatively and reviewing the procedure and
post-operative course with you, the doctor can deliver your
care with the utmost precision, safety, and comfort.
